This fully equipped treehouse offers luxury and style while staying close to nature, with two magnificent Witstinkhout trees growing through the interior. Located on the banks of the Crocodile River in the Cradle of Humankind, the Elsewhere Treehouse is a 30-minute drive from Johannesburg and 15 kilometers from Lanseria International Airport – making it an ideal refuge for the perfect city escape.

The treehouse features a fully functional kitchen – great for a self-catering getaway – a breakfast nook, as well as a spacious living room complete with a cozy fireplace. The bedroom has a full king-size bed and a dedicated working space.

The bathroom boasts a stylish clawfoot bathtub, a double-headed two-person shower, bathrobes, and quality towels. Outside, you’ll find a deck overlooking the Crocodile River and a braai area – the perfect setting for a couple of drinks while watching the sun disappear over the valley.

Our Riverview Apartment was our first real foray into the world of short-term rentals – but it remains a guest favourite, offering tranquil views of the Crocodile River and the surrounding indigenous forest. The apartment is located on the same property as the treehouse, but it’s able to accommodate up to 4 people.

The apartment consists of a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen, a dining room, and a spacious bathroom. Apart from the queen-sized bed in the bedroom, there’s also a concealed double bed in the living room. This bed is a high-quality spring and foam combination, offering a good night’s rest that’s far beyond that of a normal foldable bed. 

Outside, you’ll enjoy a view of the Crocodile River as well as the numerous bird species that call this bit of forest their home. Guests who want to book this room should contact us directly, as it isn’t bookable through this website.
